Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 12 June 2026

1. Acceptance of these Terms

Crono ("the Service") is a free, browser-based chronometer for timing small and in-house sport competitions, operated by George Vlada ("the operator", "we", "us"). By accepting these Terms & Conditions and by using the Service, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Crono runs entirely in your web browser. It lets you set a start time, record finish times, optionally import or enter a list of participants, organise results into rankings and export them. All processing happens on your device; the Service does not require an account and does not send your timing data to any server.

3. No warranty & accuracy of timing

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or uninterrupted availability.

Recorded times depend on your device's clock, your browser and your own input, and may contain errors or delays. The Service is not intended for official, certified or safety-critical timing. You are responsible for independently verifying any result before relying on it. Do not use Crono as the sole source of truth for an official competition without an appropriate backup method.

4. Your responsibilities

5. Local data

The Service stores your data locally in your browser (see the Privacy Policy for details). The operator has no access to this data and cannot recover it for you. You are solely responsible for the data you enter and for backing it up.

6. Intellectual property

Crono is an open-source project. Its source code is made available under the licence included in the project's repository, and your use of the code is subject to that licence. Trademarks or names of third parties referenced in the Service belong to their respective owners.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator and contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, results or profits, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including any inaccuracy of recorded times. Your sole remedy if you are dissatisfied with the Service is to stop using it.

8. Changes to the Service and these Terms

The Service may change or be discontinued at any time without notice. These Terms may be updated from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version. If the changes are material, you may be asked to accept the updated Terms again. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the operator's country of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you may have under your local law.

10. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be raised through the project's repository at github.com/george-run/crono.
