Crono ("the Service"), operated by George Vlada ("the operator"), is a free chronometer that runs entirely in your web browser. It is designed to be privacy-friendly: it does not use tracking, advertising or analytics cookies, it does not create user accounts, and it does not send your timing data to any server. This policy explains what is stored and where.
To work, Crono saves information locally in your browser's storage (the localStorage mechanism). This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to the operator or to any third party. It includes:
This storage is strictly functional — it is what makes the app usable — and is not used to profile or track you.
The Service does not load advertising, does not use analytics or tracking cookies, and does not build any profile of you. No third-party marketing scripts are included.
The Service is published as static files via GitHub Pages. Like any website, when your browser requests the page, the hosting provider (GitHub) may process technical connection data such as your IP address and user-agent in its server logs in order to deliver the site. The Service also loads its web fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google's servers (which may receive your IP address) to download them. No analytics, advertising or tracking scripts are used, and the operator keeps no server logs of your activity.
If you import or enter details about participants (such as names or year of birth), that information is stored only on your device, under your control. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to process it and for handling it in accordance with any applicable data-protection laws. The operator never receives this information.
You can delete recorded results at any time with the in-app "Clear results" action, and you can remove all stored data by clearing your browser's site data for this page. Because the data lives only in your browser, the operator cannot access, export or delete it on your behalf. Export your results if you want to keep a copy.
The Service is a general-purpose timing tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, since no data leaves your device.
This policy may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version. If changes are material, you may be asked to review and accept the updated documents again.
